IPL (Lumecca)

We use Lumecca IPL, one of the most powerful intense pulsed light systems for pigmented and vascular lesions. In one to three sessions it can improve age spots, vascular lesions such as facial spider veins, rosacea and redness, freckles and sun damage.

Preparation requires avoiding the sun and tanning — including self-tanner — for at least a month beforehand. It can treat most areas, most commonly sun-exposed ones: the face and neck, décolletage, arms, hands and legs.

The treatment feels like a light elastic snap with brief warmth and redness that usually subsides within an hour. Pigmented spots may darken over 24 to 48 hours, then flake off within a week. Visible results appear in a few days and are best after one to two weeks. Side effects are uncommon; avoid the sun afterward.
