Dr. Hedyeh Javidnia, MD, MPH, FRCS(C)

Dr. Javidnia’s training is extensive: a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Human Physiology from Western University, followed by medical school and a five-year residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa, where her final report named her among the best surgeons ever to complete the program.

She then completed the prestigious University of California fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery — a rigorous, examined, peer-evaluated process — making her one of only two facial cosmetic surgeons in Ottawa to have done so. She later earned a Master of Public Health at Harvard University, deepening her focus on patient satisfaction and surgical outcomes.

She is a member of the Canadian and American Academies of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, sits on the American Academy’s Evidence-Based Medicine committee, and is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa, teaching facial plastic surgery to medical trainees.

Dr. Javidnia treats technical skill as a means to an end, not the end itself. The core of her practice is affecting positive change in people’s lives — cosmetic, post-traumatic or reconstructive — by understanding each patient’s goals, counselling them honestly, and delivering a strategy to help them regain happiness with their appearance.

Communication, understanding, support and surgical aptitude are the cornerstones of her practice: results that make people say you look well-rested, not done.
